The members of this research team are fitted, from an
administrative point of view, in the group FQM-273
(Molecular and supported complexes with biological and technical interest) of
the Andalusian Plan of Research& Development (PAIDI).
Inside the general previously
indicated topic, the activity of this team is focused on the synthesis,
structural characterization and study of the biological activity of complexes
with two types of ligands, nucleobase analogs of biological interest:
Nowadays, we are really interested in the CO-releasing of metal-carbonyl
fragments (CORMs) containing nucleobase analogs which might help to improve
both the biocompatibility and bioavailability of these compounds; furthermore,
we are trying to tune the CO-releasing abilities by changing ancillary ligands
which may influence the M-CO bond strength.
